Our story

Dorper sheep, raised for the drylands

Katis Dorper Farm is in Mtito Andei, Makueni County, near Subati Market. We keep Dorper sheep because they cope with heat and dry-season forage better than most breeds — and we want other farmers to see how to do it well.

How we feed

Our flock grazes in the fields by day and gets an evening supplement. We grow Juncao grass and sorghum for silage and feed it alongside pellets and dry Boma Rhodes hay, and some animals are fed fully zero-grazed.

Good feed is where profit is made or lost, which is why feed education is the first thing we teach on our tours.

What we stand for

Records for every animal

Each animal we list shows its tag, age, weight history, parents and health record, so you know what you're buying.

Honest sourcing

If an animal comes from another breeder, the listing says so: “Sourced and vetted by Katis Dorper Farm”. We never pass it off as our own.

Learn by doing

Our educational tour is held on the working farm and covers feed education, deworming and business plans.
