How we can help

Start where you are

Why Dorper

A breed shaped by the African sun

Developed in South Africa from Dorset Horn and Blackhead Persian stock, the Dorper was bred for hot, dry country — exactly the conditions we farm in.

See our stock
01

Built for the drylands

Dorpers cope well in heat and on rough rangeland forage — a good fit for places like Makueni.

02

No shearing

The Dorper sheds its own hair-and-wool coat, so there's no shearing labour or cost.

03

Fast to market

Lambs grow quickly and finish well on good feed, reaching market weight sooner than most indigenous sheep.

04

Good mothers

Dorper ewes breed outside a fixed season and are known for strong mothering instinct.
